Meet Google Recorder. This is one of the biggest breakthroughs by Google in a decade. If opened with APIs a developer ecosystem will flourish around this. It is what Apple should have made 5 years ago...pic.twitter.com/cJgm18N1f0

Erik, indeed. But it requires the cloud. This new system does it local in AirPlane mode. There is so much power when the cloud is removed and it is built into the device-natively.

Apple has offline support as well, though not for all languages.

Erik, to a minor extent. I have been using this for quite sometime as I dictate over 80% of what I write. The issue is it is very limited to short text and no index to the words in a useful way. it is just text on a screen. Google recorder is designed for long and short form.

Erik, thank you. I get it. I am a huge Apple fan. But Siri can not do this in long form with instant indexing native to the device. We must accept when Apple takes bad advice and ignores things like #VoiceFirst.
