I can not stress enough the breakthrough that the amazing Google engineers achieved by fully local, in airplane mode, real-time, speech-to-text. 98% accuracy in english in normal settings It is magnificent work and a stunning achievement. Google Recorder is magic and—magical.

Erik, indeed. But it requires the cloud. This new system does it local in AirPlane mode. There is so much power when the cloud is removed and it is built into the device-natively.

Looks more like the other way around: APIs for transcription have been around for years - but this looks more like a product that makes great use of them?

Tobias, thanks for asking. Indeed. I have 90% of all words I have spoken or were said to me is transcribed. What is different is the file system, easy access and indexing and much more.

Colin, yes! absolutely. The optical image recognition and the speech to text in Glasses will fundamentally change how we remember. This is a massive shift in computing.
