The amount of information that can be usefully displayed in Glasses by Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook is already well established. I call it CarPlay for your head for a real reason. Just a few data elements in the Collimation areas and fatigue is imminent. We knew this in 1973.https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1183912674687471616 …

For example, this academic study is a treasure of insight but is very hard to find, I found it for interested folks, it has not been accessed since 2017: "Airline Head-Up Display Systems: Human Factors Considerations" Note: Apple Google Amazon Facebook https://www.omicsonline.org/open-access/airline-headup-display-systems-human-factors-considerations-2162-6359-1000248.pdf … https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1183910026722693120 … pic.twitter.com/X6sXpmLWK7

so persistent labels sitting in FOV become eyewash? I don't get sick of the HUD in my car but I do ignore it after a bit. I don't get sick of the hud in games either. Does this factor change when the information is pinned to a real world object?

Noah, great insights. Yes there is a point where even pilots with safety data will become overwhelmed and begin to ignore the data. There is a memory chunking rule of George Miller 7 +/- 2 plays into the cognitive aspect. It seems some of the tech companies will have to learn it.

What will apps become when all that can be effectively displayed long term are little vector squiggles? What's the day to day equivalent of a pilot's gauges for a school teacher, or a lawyer, or a dentist, or someone trying to eat better? 🤔 $1T questions

Noah, yes! This will be interesting. We have passed peak app. The deconstruction of apps to voice and iconics will change how we think of devices and computers. The heavy lifting will be done by contextual AI.

Exciting times ahead Brian! What smaller startups are working at the intersection of voice and HUD? Seems there is a parallel with auto interfaces (hardware controls, touch screens being only so practical), next – more powerful use of audio?

JASON. Do you know I have been waiting for Nizo since literally 2011 or whenever you made that awesome website? How did I miss that you released it?!

That’s all I am thinking about anymore. How do we build it and what are the jobs to be done.
