A VC & board member of a very notable startup contracted me to help founders and their teams understand what a customer truly is. They were mired in “sales is for bad products—look at how Apple does it”. The end of consignees was not because of costs, but because in the 1960s brand “accountant mentality” took over and found sole-proprietors useless mediators.
The dealers, their professional consignees had less margins on fuel then today—higher profits and very loyal customers. https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1181325587375255552 … pic.twitter.com/UvPmjmiYIa
