one thing I wonder about… so someone would wear airpods in a restaurant? listening to music of to hear the person next to him better???? that would make them hearing aids …otherwise why would one sit in a restaurant with AirPods?

Is tilt gesture necessary? A few back & forths of dialog (including as you walk in) should pinpoint who you’re talking to. When waiter speaks, their voice will be abrupt and close by. When someone yells “fire!”, an abrupt new addition to the din. All seem doable w/o gesture
