I paid $1600 for a Toshiba laptop in ‘93. Then paid another $1600 for 16Mb ram upgrade. Had to lease my dev boxes, they were 3-4 grand ea. lolz

I switched from TI-99 to Commodore 64 because for the same cost to get a floppy disk for the TI-99 I could get a C-64, a 1541 floppy drive AND a dot matrix printer. For TI-99 it would have required me to get the expansion chassis, a floppy disk IO card, plus a floppy drive.

I had seriously considered getting the TI machine, minus all the periferials back in the day. I obviously couldn't afford it. So when Commodore came out with their C64, I pounced on it!
