I can remember having the "feeling" that Sony made the best products, very similar to how I feel Apple makes the best products today. I just looked around, even in my tech junk drawer, and I don't see Sony anywhere. Not even an SD card. Interesting...

Allen, indeed and also Betamax. The “yes boss, sounds great” culture was alive and well. This was obvious in the epoch but insularity and hubris was at play. Especially at this point in the companies history.
