Cash will become a multi-trillion dollar payment system for online and #VoiceCommerce shopping.
It was not clear in 2002, 2010 and 2019 just how this payment method could have been part of a massive disruption for payment startups. History will show they missed the boat.https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1174377616712691713 …

Do you have any more predictions why? I would not want to use cash myself but I understand why someone would want for privacy reasons. You mentioned it's not for the unbanked - but I cannot think then of a reason that is not privacy-related.

Piotr, thanks for asking. There are many reasons that would be hard to present here. One reason even wealthy people use cash AND check is as a control on spending with a viable feedback system. Spent decades studying this in the payments world.

Thanks! I was wondering why Apple, targeting for sure the more wealthy, offers so prominent display (color, categories) of spending on the Apple Card. I'm assuming this is same mechanism. Interesting to see people want to inflict "pain" on themselves (by going to WU location)

it runs against all the usual wisdom of ecommerce and making the checkout seamless.

Piotr, indeed. Spending money really fast is a solution for businesses. Living with-in means is a solution for people. Sadly there are usually only self appointed advocates for the latter. There are no grade school courses in personal finance but there should be.
