🔮 We are entering into an age where high resolution sound will be transmitted and received through the body and not through the open air via the ears. No AirPods needed. Much like Apple removing the 3.5mm headphone jack, soon they will remove—the headphones themselves.https://twitter.com/BrianRoemmele/status/1174826922682900481 …

I wonder what this will do to the audio experience and the beauty of it. Often we hate the sound of our voices as they are heard by others. Will it change our sense of the beauty or texture of other voices. Is that good?

Rachel, I hear ya. You know it has some positive and negative. The sound experience is stunning and you can still hear the ambient world around you. It actually feels more natural than something in your ears or on your ears or even from good room speakers. It is interesting times

Not that this isn’t super cool, but the patent is for recording audio, not playing it.

Jim, indeed. I have to present the many bone conduction “head sets”. There is no doubt they will be paired on the Apple Glasses device if not in the first version, the pro versions.

Won't it have any side effects? What's the problem they intend to solve?

Abash, there are no side effects. Pilots, army navy have used it in forms for decades. There are many problems to solve. One is wearing glasses all day with your ears plugged also is fatiguing and potentially dangerous (you do need to hear around you sometimes).

Biting a tuning fork uses bone structure for resonance and frequency. 😊 i.e. you hear with your head...possibilities !

"Apple Teeth Pods vibrate your molars subtly and work with the natural resonance of your skull to offer the full immersive spatial audio experience beyond what you've ever heard and felt before." $999 per molar, get two for ultra surround sound, four for chest rattle 😉
