Hey, Twitter people (real and fake ones)... Does anyone know the very first example of digital money/currency? Was it something a government did? Please cite. Thank you.

Do you know when was the first government use of digital currency?

Mathew, it is sort of an interesting question. Central banks have been using “electronic money” since the 1970s. Today a vast majority of money is electronic and thus one can argue the US dollar is the largest digital currency in the world today.
