Is the expectation that every current gun owner and every new gun owner must have (and must continually use) a smart speaker that continuously listens to evaluate them as mentally stable to keep the gun? Much more heavy handed than a gun registry.

I know the US works differently... But I'm quite happy over here the answer to the question, if normal citizens should own guns doesn't need any AI. It's a simple and plain "No"

The problem here is that the 2nd amendment exists to ensure the citizenry stays strong enough to oppose an oppressive government if needed. Letting the government decide who is fit to own guns defeats the point of letting people own guns at all.
