Sure. However, it is most potent right now because the synthetic speech technology has advanced enough to be very close to humanlike and the attack vector is unexpected. As people become more aware of this type of fraud it will be harder to execute.

Folks, the implications of deep fakes in audible or visual form is a pandora’s box that will be a “gift” that keeps on giving. I will not present in public how deeply this will be used, to not encourage but I have thought about this for a long time. There will be hyper reactions.
