As an AGI purist though I believe you're still talking about narrow AI. There is only one way to give a full enough context to words for truly meaningful and powerful interaction and that is to back them up with a rich world model. Also chat bots are the tip of the AGI iceberg.

Mark, I hear ya. I agree. The issue is the labeling and the point of the labeling. When humans don’t know an answer to a question, they look it up. It is precisely what I build. Sometimes in real-time and sometimes over time, you can have a contextual conversation with the result

Thus we are aiming for the wrong endpoint. With
#VoiceFirst systems I build, from the ground up they are dialogue and conversational based not Q&A. I use ~14000 human protocols to anticipate conversion interaction. Not designed to beat a Turing test but is better than thumbs. -
World model comes first for me. Language adoption is almost trivial once you build the world model.
