One of the many reasons I continue to use Mac OS 9 every day is the Platinum Sounds of the Aural Interface by Gina Venolia and Jim Mckee of Apple’s Human Interface and Advanced Technology Group. The sounds create a sonic landscape that—increases productivity. It is brilliant.pic.twitter.com/8bq9t1LXCU

That brought back a few memories. I haven’t heard those noises or seen those themes in years. How d you run macOS 9 in this day and age?

Cameron, Thank you! I use Sheepsaver on the latest MacOSs. I have it running on Raspberry PIs. On MacBook Pro I use it with some of my
#VoiceFirst systems to transcribe and do word processing and other things like FileMaker. Thanks to BeOS and@gassee! https://sheepshaver.cebix.net1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

Thanks Brian: interesting stuff. Classic macOS is a relic of a very different era

Cameron, indeed! Yet it is spectacular. Very fast and exacting. The aural aspects to the OS makes it psychologically rewarding to use. I did some research in the 1990s about how it increased productivity with a few university students. I just have to find the paper.
