This... isn’t skeuomorphic? Or at least, it isn’t any more skeuomorphic than other cards in Apple Wallet. If you’re referring to if it reacts to light, Apple Cash does that too. But what you’re talking about the Apple Card doing isn’t skeuomorphic.

(By “reacts to light,” I mean by the angle of the phone, simulating light on a hologram, not that it is actually influenced by light.)

Patrick, thanks for asking. Indeed it is. It seems to have a few 1000 early user folks selected today at 3am PDT. I think it will be wide open by September with new Apple Pay enhancements that will be announced...

It’s less “bother” and more “have leverage”. The U.S. banks are highly fragmented and fiercely competitive. Other markets only have a few, sometimes nationalized banks which are far less competitive. Apple wants everyone’s money. Some places are just harder to get it.
