I will let out a secret: I built some of #TheIntelligenceAmplifier and #YourWisdomKeeper on the Gopher (port 70) protocol using a meshnet of Raspberry Pis. It is ironic that Gopher is actually very useful in the #VoiceFirst revolution. @adamcurry had it right in the 90s.pic.twitter.com/qjFwZruJRr

In any of my #VoiceFirst conversations a real-time constructed Gopher menu is created on one of the 100s of Raspberry Pis. This allows for the creation of an Intelligent Agent to interact with dialogue. The Gopher protocol is fully text based and very robust.

Because my only “boss” is reality, I have no qualms about using olde tyme tech to get the work done. I can run over 100000 #VoiceFirst Gopher menus per second on Raspberry Pis. This allows for a real-time choice based on true context of the dialogue. No AGI “General AI Needed”.

The 1990s Gopher is just 1% of the system I use, but it is profound and important. Everything human do is reduced to words and words are text in computers. Steve Jobs NeXT created WWW and Gopher. NeXT created the web revolution and will help the #VoiceFirst revolution.

Golly, I can almost remember the IP address for my first gopher in 1992.

A lot of my first internet usage (post BBS era) was gopher through a shell account. Contrasting with Internet of 2019, I really miss the simplicity
