Me at check in: “are there dispensaries nearby or do I have to go back across the border?” “No, there is one in town.” “What’s good there?” “I don’t know.” “What do you hear is good there?” “I really don’t know.” Conversation with the bell boys went differently.

Because of federal law, you can’t use credit cards. (Rant On that later.) But can you legally use hotel points in CA? What do you predict will be first hotel chain to let you do that? Before IHG, I’d have bet
@Kimpton. Before Hyatt, I’d have bet@JDVHotels.@garyleff1 reply 0 retweets 1 likeShow this thread -
Twice this year the House has taken action to protect banks from legal repercussions for doing business with marijuana businesses where those are permitted under state law. We'll get there on credit cards. (And one multi-state marijuana chain has issued its own credit card.)

Columbia Care introduced the CNC Card last month. [They tried it in NY second half of last year - they're also in DE, PA, AZ, IL. Their online delivery orders are 40% larger thana in-person and even in-store customers using their card spent 18% more.

I will have to look that up! You are always ahead of the curve. But what I want is something different: using my Hyatt points to buy. Also: welcome amenity option. It would be really bold of a company to do that. As bold as NW being first to ban smoking. Maybe more.

Outside my area of expertise but seems like it could be complicated legally for a hotel to stock and gift (or bundle with room rate = sell) marijuana. Wouldn't they have to become a dispensary themselves?

Also: LOLed at “outside of my area of expertise.” Seems from VFTW and here, there are very few things outside of your area of expertise. You’re one of my favorite polymaths. See also:
