“Apple's former long-time Siri head says Intelligent Assistants don't deliver on their promise” This explains precisely why Siri fell behind. It pains me to say it, Siri was being lead by someone that was: Clueless. He made sure Alexa happened.https://9to5mac.com/2019/06/14/ias-dont-deliver/amp/?__twitter_impression=true …

Siri’s team told me four years ago that it would need to be completely rebuilt.
@Dagk showed me why when he left Apple and started Viv. Apple has been making moves. I expect to see major improvements next year as it launches Spatial Computing devices.1 reply 0 retweets 8 likes -

Robert, indeed. Great points sir. Apple is moving in a much better direction with Siri. Also the amazing WorkFlow team and the Accessibility team have done an astounding job too.

It is interesting to consider that the new Airpods have as much computing inside as an iPhone 4. Another NLP researcher I heard at a
@Betaworks event says a revolution in how the AI works in these things is coming in two years. Why? New computing speed is enabling improvements.1 reply 2 retweets 7 likes
Robert, yes! This is the path. When you first powered up a Macintosh the concept of less than 40 years later your would have the processing power of 100+ in your ears would have been impossible to fathom. Yet here we are. This canvass will invent new ideas of what is a computer.
