I've seen some analyst notes on the impact of Apple Card on $AAPL but only in the context of just looking at Apple Card. Is it right to assume that the transaction fees that Apple is paying for transactions on Apple Pay will go away now that they are a card issuer?

Great question. If the transaction is performed by Apple and the customer uses Apple Card/Cash Apple pays almost nothing for the transaction. This can also spread to other preferred merchants.

The "new money" in reference to Ebay. I'm not seeing how it's new if the item was already bought and paid for before it got into someone's garage. Am I missing something?
-
Brady, thanks for asking. In the eBay scenario things found in the garage or attic would have been tossed or sold at a 1¢ basis at a garage sale. eBay found a market and this new revenue is money the owner would have not recovered normally. Thus it is found money.

How is it creating 'new money' if a portion of the fees paid by merchants go towards a person's Daily Cash? Isn't it just redistribution of funds from the fees paid?
-
Brady, indeed great point. The interchange that merchants pay are a part of the existing credit card system. By shunting some of this (most of it) back to the card holder in real time is money that otherwise was locked in points or breakage.

Regarding "breakage", is there a means of storing and using Daily Cash outside of Apples system?

I think crypto has the potential to undermine Apple's "new money" revenue because of the fees paid by merchants. IF crypto can lower fees that merchants pay, why use Apple Pay? A really big 'if' there ;)
