My version of the 1980s Covox Voice Master was one of the first publicly available voice recognition systems using resistor ladder ADC/DAC.
@Nasa tested this system successfully as a computer interface for astronauts.

In the 1980s I went on to combined the BSR X-10 Powerhouse with the Commodore 64 + my Covox Voice Master version and created one of the first voice controlled automated home systems:
“Alfred, turn on the bedroom light"
“Alfred, open shades"
