If multimodal and audio only experiences need to coexist in the #voicefirst world we should borrow from the web and reintroduce the concept of progressive enhancement. Design for audio only experiences first and use the screen as an enhancement to that experience. #vui #vux

Progressive enhancement is the only way I know that we'll be able to create ideal experiences for audio only and multimodal. What do you fine folks think? @revanhoe @Oaktree_Dave @joanbajorek @BrianRoemmele @PaulCutsinger @mark_voicefirst @marktucker @SJW75

Scot, indeed this is brilliance sir. The thing I have done in my work is assume nothing when scraping the web with #TheIntelligenceAmplifier. I build the ontological abilities in to my systems. Thus when the data is presented it is connected by the ontologies with/without images.

Agree. Build a great #VoiceFirst experience and then layer on a complementary screen experience.

A complementary color is not the exact same color. Similarly, the complementary screen experience should not just be a display of the text that the assistant is saying.

Agree context changes the delivery but we have to always make sure we don’t lose sight of the user needs. I know that goes without saying but @scotwestwater & I have seen it happen.
