Very interesting Brian What comes to mind is, how valuable is perfect voluntary recall?
I’m of the belief that our present actions and thoughts are comprised of everything we have seen, heard, read, and experienced whether we can recall them or not -
Daniel, indeed. I have studied “us” we humans for over 40 years and find that most of our paradigms (our operating systems) are the sum total of all we have seen, read and heard. We will fundamentally change humanity if we can connect and reconnect with this. We will never forget

Speaking of reading, a science fiction novel you might enjoy: Psychohistorical Crisis, by Donald Kingsbury. Major plot point: “fam”s, which are outboard brains enabling computation & memory superior to the wetware currently available. Unauthorized sequel to Asimov’s Foundation.
