I understand your viewpoint. I do know this subject and have studied it. There is no practical reason to instill “human intelligence” into an other species. None. That is the first premise. Anything else can not stand on this weak assumption.

Indeed. I have read the papers. There is no fundamental gene/disease purpose. If you create intelligent biological human gene based life, you have a world of ethical issues on how you maintain and end that life. There are more ethical and less fantastical ways to do research.
