@BretKinsella /@VoicebotAI did gets at what I was going to say...in doing all this recent original research, Alexa responds to its share of simple queries in obtuse and inconsistent ways. I don't think this represents any sort of strategic shift. Just a miscue. -

Agree! There are so many ways to skin this monetisation cat. But...why even bother thinking about this now? Amazon are so cash rich. There's no need to monetise yet. Voice is in its infancy. Develop and establish the platform and ecosystem and monetise later
