A great report by the amazing @bretkinsella + @ava_mutchler! As I predicted first in the 1980s and most recently in 2014—discovery of #VoiceFirst apps are a massive problem that is not close to being solved. This is a problem I know how to solve. 👉 https://voicebot.ai/2019/03/07/u-s-smart-speaker-ownership-rises-40-in-2018-to-66-4-million-and-amazon-echo-maintains-market-share-lead-says-new-report-from-voicebot/ …pic.twitter.com/AxjNuNpmHK

Can you solve it across walled gardens, or only within them?

Fred, great question. Both. It is really simple when you have worked in this for over 40 years. There are many dead ends that could have and could be averted if empirical praxis was used. It is currently fashionable to say “we have really smart folks working on this”.

Across seems much less tractable to me. PageRank "solved" discovery by exploiting metadata of a universal protocol; social "solved" by providing a new layer over that protocol. The latter seems feasible but who will build an open layer?

Fred, great points! Turns out an open layer is not needed. I can from real-time ontology and taxonomy based on the high context and other protocols I have established on the user. I do this in my garage lab on a hundred mesh networked raspberry Pi’s.

Fred, thank you sir. In the process of building. Only so many hours and #VoiceFirst assistants helping me me. I will get there. You will be on my pre alpha list, I think you will find all this quite fascinating.
