I’m guessing this is a long shot, but do you guys think iTunes Match/iCloud Music Library could work with Google Home? I know it doesn’t with Amazon devices.

Mike, great question. There are no technical reasons. The primary reason is the hazy license to the song in a 3rd party “unregistered” device. Ownership has a set of different licenses streaming. This can be solved if Apple delivered this music via SiriOS as I urge me them.

This is without a doubt going to cannibalize
#Homepod sales -
Jesse, indeed! Fully agree. This is why if I was at Apple this deal would not have been done. The deal that would have been done is a fully stocked rich developer SiriOS accesses via Google Home with of course access to Apple Music. That would be a valuable subscription.

Why?! Apple does not need to cater to theses other platforms? This really voids their privacy claim? Why support/promote these devices

Jonah, indeed this is the question. I call it Apple playing checkers with music and with SiriOS they are playing 4D Chess. Very short term vs medium term.
