I use Castbox to listen to podcasts on my Android phone, just because it never occurred to me that Spotify could provide a great podcast listening experience. This could change with more and more "Spotify Original" podcasts coming out

"Leading by example" with great original podcasts + "democratizing podcast creation" could be a great mix to establish Spotify as the leading player in the podcast business. Maybe even iOS users might switch from iTunes after some time?

One more thing I found interesting: The announcement doesn't use the terms "voice", "smart", "speaker", "Alexa", or "Assistant" a single time. They call the announcement
#AudioFirst, not#VoiceFirst.4 replies 0 retweets 13 likesShow this thread
Jan, indeed I noticed this also. I think it may be shortsighted as the long arc is a #VoiceFirst interface. @Spotify will with have to build one or use one either way to compete. It will be a #VoiceFirst world soon enough.

Replying to @BrianRoemmele @Spotify
Agree. Spotify already has tight integrations into Alexa, Google Assistant though, might be interesting to see how this could be expanded for podcast listening
