I’m a fairly low key person but I have been thinking about the conversations we as human beings are having these days. Re: tech - I can appreciate the amazing stuff technology enables, but people have gotten so entrenched in their beliefs. We forget that life is complicated. 1/

We forget that people have their own troubles. We disparage people that might not share our opinions. We have become conspiracy junkies. Cynical. Sarcastic. We forget that these large tech companies are run by fellow human beings. Be critical, but we are all here together. 2/

We need to have the harder conversations about what sort of world our children are growing up in. We can’t forget that everything comes with a cost. With trade offs. I’m not worried about whose winning the camera phone “wars” or stock prices. 3/

I’m more interested in how we use tech to clean up our oceans. How tech can clean up the air we breathe. How we can create products more humanely. How things we do to achieve those goals also have a cost. These are hard problems that will effects generations. /5

We really need to have the hard conversations and not get hung up on the minutia. It hurts everyone regardless of gender, race, religion, or political party. /end

Foad, this is poetic and beautiful sir. Thank you. Printed out and will be archived. I think this should be the basis of a semester in 4th grade to help us reflect the world we face.
