Voice did not evolve stand-alone, only as part of the package: a human being. Thus an interface only as useful as it taps into the whole stack in a good balance.

IIya, I hear ya. Humans gave up a significant portion of the brain to Broca’s and Wernike’s area, if aphasia takes place we can no longer read or write and gesture. This the phonological loop. The gesture lead to speech and is important but not central.
