Very interesting - I gesture a lot with my hands and have been coached to do so less when publicly speaking - perhaps bad advice.

Being from Long Island, I move my hands a ton while speaking. Coaching me otherwise would be suggesting I turn my back on the traditions of my people.

Mark, indeed. Me being born in Newark, NJ has bestowed upon me a high level of gesticulating. Now I have the evidence that it is all ok and in fact an evolutionary benefit.
