Echos start out cheaper than the iPod did. Big difference.

RJ, indeed. Great point! The fundamental reason for the chart is not to take away from the amazing achievements of the iPod but to show how a growth of a new platform is proceeding. The podcast will dive into this in what I hope is higher resolution.

Gents, have been meaning to hit you both with this thought since I caught you on a fantastic podcast ep on
#voicecontrol: seems like voice is irrelevant until it’s reliably available offline.#Shortcuts on my#iphone languishes bec I can’t reliably use it everywhere I am. -

Somewhat misleading. Most people didn't own multiple iPods, whereas (because the Echo is stationary) many people have multiple Echoes for their house.

Kevin, indeed. This is a great point! It also illustrates the how this new platform is permeating the landscape as a UI to AI. The growth represents many things simultaneously. We speak to this in the podcast to some degree.

My phone holds my music, not an iPod. I did not think it was really relevant anymore. I don’t have an Echo.

Carol, I hear ya. This is just the first few years of iPod. The iPhone came about on the last year of the chart. Indeed few would want both iPhone and iPod. Just an example of growth rates.

Brian I really like your engagement with the community. Nice to see someone that really takes the time to interact in his postings in both affirmative and negative comments.

Gurvinder, thank you sir! I really appreciate it. To me if someone took the time to interact with me and present knowledge it is incumbent upon me to show appreciation for the time.
