The more I look at voice interfaces the more they remind me of pen computing in the 1990s. The tech is sort of there and it seems like it should be a better UI, but the tech isn’t actually there and the UI is really problematic. And we had to wait for 20 years and multitouch.

What’s the growth and adoption rate of voice based applications compared to mobile apps? Unclear if behaviors have materially shifted to voice. Personally, I have only used voice commands for music and as a light switch.

Kevin, great question. Indeed, this is not unlike the early days of the Personal Computer when Steve Jobs said it would be in every home to balance checkbooks… It is early days with very, very crude applications. This will change by orders of magnitude in the next 2 years...
