A machine one wants to talk to seems to be an AI-complete problem. Speaking is an act, and not one the human mind takes lightly. @PaulSkallas will have some Lindy thoughts on that.

Simon, I understand. Not easy to find pre internet info like this. I do know that Times Mirror was very anti PC and conducted many “studies” that made the idea of a PC dubious. They resisted AOL’s first request to digitalize. That changed later on...
