Thanks Kingsley!!! Appreciated. As for cheeky post... I often get my ‘aha’ moments when on my runs. And I’m rubbish at capturing them. So thought I’d seize the moment. 💥

I heard Robin Christopherson @USA2DAY of @abilitynet talking about assistive tech using Alexa/voice stuff. Worth checking out.

Thanks Jenni. I’ll check it out. I’m pretty interested in how this could all pan out... potential for ‘positive’ is there...

Instant thought: you need to think “voice” and not “Alexa Skills”. The latter is a walled garden where you can only really do what Amazon allows (although it’s a great enabler and lets people understand possibilities). Voice is so much more than that.

Yes!!! 🙌 See my previous post to Jenni. It’s the whole shebang I’m interested in... will voice be a game changer?

Mobile quickly found its niche in mass market social media and on-demand services, but they haven’t exactly shown tech in a good light. Voice has a chance to do things differently and think it through, because the adoption curve will be slower.

Agree. But the ‘do things differently’ is the challenge: the possible built in bias, the inevitable focus on consumerism, the access to the hardware etc. (I’m not really clued up on all this but keen to learn.)

I started some ramblings after leaving Amazon about this stuff. This is just a taster, when I get more time I’ll keep going:https://medium.com/@daviddlow/whose-voice-is-it-anyway-6f3408e48a53 …
