      yeah, that was kind of my point - why are assistants often female (or at least female gender vocal) yet directional applications like maps/Waze are more male? As developers of these applications, we need to check our biases and more at the door

      But they were all defaulted to female (and even the ability to switch was fairly recent). So why not let the users choose at the time of set up, instead of defaulting to one gender? 🧐

      Daniel, great point. In my research it is clear that humans automatically assign gender when something can be anthropomorphic. Even pets get a persona and gender. The reasons are ancient, hardwired and complex. Thus I consult to assign these features or they will be assigned.
