@EWErickson that's because it was a tax cut. $3.7 trillion over 10. cut taxes from the new post-cliff baseline.

@BrianHDarling so did mine. because of the fiscal cliff. then congress cut my taxes. you can't skip the cliff. -
@RyanLEllis - So the Fiscal Cliff legislation hiked your taxes too. What about you@EWErickson using "what did I pay last yr baseline? -
@BrianHDarling one more time: the legislation didn't raise your taxes (it cut them). the cliff did. two. separate. things. -
@RyanLEllis I understand that. And I also understand that I am paying more taxes this year. Congress cut a bad deal. -
@BrianHDarling totally fair point. im not defending the merits of the bill. im simply saying the bill was a tax cut, not a tax hike.

@BrianHDarling#CryMeARiver 450K and your WHINING.... -
@grandma420 - my taxes and yours went up when payroll tax was not renewed. I don't make any where near $450 a year. I wish. -
@BrianHDarling Tax cuts ended as they needed to..

@BrianHDarling how long did we need to be over the cliff before you'd be willing to admit subsequent cong action was a tax cut? -
@RyanLEllis - the better question is why didn't they also keep payroll tax cut if they wanted to keep middle class taxes low. -
@BrianHDarling the bill didn't cut taxes enough to roll back 100% of the new tax law. but it cut them from the new perm law.
