actually, for all you ratio people, the bill is a tax cut of $11 for every $1 in spending hikes. see, the tax hikes happened at midnight.

@RyanLEllis - Are you saying it would have violated pledge had it been signed last night?

@BrianHDarling like plan B, the bill was written to be technically pledge-compliant. my point is that the old present law baseline is gone.

@RyanLEllis - Your point is not well taken if you are changing your own baseline merely to be an apologist for tax hiking Rs.

@BrianHDarling how long after midnight does it have to be before rolling back some of midnight's tax hike is ok?

@RyanLEllis - Let's not forget, this bill has UI, Doc Fix, Farm Bill and Obama "Stim" tax prov and removes sequester. High price to pay.

@BrianHDarling that's why the house should amend the bill to include more spending cuts and a little more tax relief

@RyanLEllis - Let's be honest, there are no real spending cuts in this bill.

@BrianHDarling the doc fix offsets are real spending cuts. BA caps tend to be mushy, i know. won't defend those.

@BrianHDarling this also isn't the last budget bill of the year--it's the first. we still have sequester, CR, debt limit, then mini-cliff.

@RyanLEllis - In other words, get ready for more tax hikes, borrowing, spending and fake long-term spending cuts in 2013. Happy New Year!
