actually, for all you ratio people, the bill is a tax cut of $11 for every $1 in spending hikes. see, the tax hikes happened at midnight.
@RyanLEllis - Let's not forget, this bill has UI, Doc Fix, Farm Bill and Obama "Stim" tax prov and removes sequester. High price to pay.
-
-
@BrianHDarling that's why the house should amend the bill to include more spending cuts and a little more tax relief -
@RyanLEllis - Let's be honest, there are no real spending cuts in this bill. -
@BrianHDarling the doc fix offsets are real spending cuts. BA caps tend to be mushy, i know. won't defend those.

@BrianHDarling doc fix is paid for, farm bill supposedly paid for, sequester avoidance paid for. UI an issue. stim tax credits temporary. -
@RyanLEllis - If House scheduled a vote today on extending all Bush rates, are you saying that a "nay" vote would not violate pledge. -
@BrianHDarling a nay vote in such a case would be a vote against tax relief, since all the bush tax cuts expired at midnight. -
@RyanLEllis ...but not a violation of The Pledge? Right. -
@BrianHDarling the bill tonight? no, it doesn't violate the pledge. how could it when it cuts taxes from WHERE TAXES CURRENTLY ARE? -
@RyanLEllis - Your all caps got stuck. You and President Obama may disagree, but this deal is a bad deal. -
@BrianHDarling that's a separate question. it may very well be a bad deal. i think it probably is. but it is not a tax hike.
