Americans rooting against their President's health makes about as much sense as betting big on a chess tournament in which you plan to play pawns against monarchs.

This isn’t a monarchy, when the king is dead, there are a million kings behind him waiting to try their hand at leading, and guess what, it’s the pawns that choose the new king...that is why it’s a bad analogy.
-
Even in a monarchy they have heirs who take over when they die. Hence: The king is dead! Long live the king!

if you said "protect the pawns more than the monarchs" then it would have made perfect sense to me, but when you say "play"... well actually in chess pawns get a lot more play than the monarchs and are strategically more active

You do realize that pawns are the most abundant pieces on the board, and they can all become queens, right? Spoken like a guy who’s never played chess (or underestimates the strength of common people in large numbers.

That. He and Jordan Peterson could hold a profitable seminar on how to debate specialists on something you have no clue about, look stupid to specialists and still make money.
