It’s as though they actually want to understand each other. Must be baffling to so many.

I still can't figure out why Eric calls himself a leftist -- he's more conservative that I am on every issue here discussed. As far as I can tell Eric thinks he's a "leftist" bc of the one-dimensional education he received at Harvard. Otherwise, WTF.
-
To my knowledge, he believes in strong welfare system, redistribution, pro-choice, universal healthcare - that would qualify him I suppose. Plus, he voted for Obama twice and Hilary, he spoke laudably about Obama.

I love that two individuals can get together and discuss their opposing views without shouting over each other.... keep it up... maybe it will take!

It really was a great conversation. I may disagree with Brett on most things but it has driven me to look into several points he made. Please keep stuff like this going!
-
You mean Eric right? ;-)

I'm craving more discussion from Eric on why atheists like myself *should* care inter-generationally about things. Why should I care about the year 2100+? 1 hour was too short and it was fascinating!

More straw men in this conversation than a wizard of oz audition.

Can you explain? Genuinely would like to hear your criticism.
-
Appropriately sized criticism of the right. The right is the party currnetly in power in all branches of government on a national level as well as many gubernatorial. What might the right be able to do better? Any concerns at all?
-
I have no idea what needs to be done. And the right has some control just like the left had some control. Framing it that way has not worked. I am finding out free doesn’t mean the same to everyone. Identity politics is new to me as well.
-
Pick any topic and frame it from a moral standpoint of right vs. wrong. Works most of the time.
-
I have. And I see both right and left wanting the same outcome. But disagree on how to get there.

That was so good! I’m going to have to listen a second time. Maybe a third. So much information and so much to think about and so much to share. Thanks, gentlemen.

It was an excellent show. However, it was too short! I love the long form discussions!

I see a lot of people were disappointed that it was only an hour long... it's working, people want more!

It was fun. I always like listening to Eric. I wish they would have explored Ben's assertion that most of the IDW is committed to "natural law". I don't get that impression (though he might be on the mark with Sam, which is worth noting).
