Same old stigma game. The force that seeks to tell you who you may talk to isn't your friend. It doesn't want you to discover that many unspeakables are good people cast out for the crime of independance. Reject voices that ask you to trust as they threaten and punish others.https://twitter.com/RubinReport/status/1020311842051112960 …

You should talk to your friend about the history and meaning of the term "Cultural Marxism", a, um, you know, neo-Nazi conspiracy theory.

"Cultural Marxism" is a term that when said, guarantees the speaker doesn't understand either word in it, separately or in combination . Or else they are maybe a Nazi. But I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I think cultural Marxism refers to the shift in tactics from Marxists originally using class as a way to create an us vs them ideology to now using identity based on arbitrary characteristics like race/sex/sex-orientation, I just call them Marxists because that's what they are...

Can you be a Marxist without even knowing what Marx was about? If you can be an accidental Marxist, why wasn't that a thing before Marx?

Good point that socialists of various stripes and rebels/revolutionaries exist long before Marx. Shays rebel. Whiskey rebel. Levellers. Diggers. Much more, obvs. Marx was qual different. Smart Vanguard violent terror gang rule is core idea for "transition" to equality & peace.

When I call modern day feminists & SJW's Marxists it is because they see the world through the Marxist lens of oppressor/oppressed. Marx viewed the rich as oppressors in the same way feminists/SJW's view white males as oppressors.

Look at Pakistani rape gangs in London for example. They went without prosecution for many decades, mostly because the police feared being called racist by SJW's, SJW's who claim to stand for women's rights but for some reason dropped the ball & failed women entirely on this one.

Bret, start having public conversations with people on left and far left whom you disagree with but who clearly believe in truth and can criticize forms of identity politics. This will help, even if it makes your friends tense.

Great suggestion. Bret, please follow it. I agree with much of your stuff in YouTube, but it seems that despite calling yourself center-left lately you are more eager to criticize the left than the right.

This is an important point about criticizing the left more than the right. Bret is not alone. I think the IDW is generally more eager to find faults in the left.. I must say, I find myself guilty of this too, even as someone who is on the left on most issues. Great point, Kolya.

I also enjoy criticizing the left. But not strawmanning and mischaracterizing it.
