Bret, I enjoy your commentaries immensely, but here's an interesting perspective. I've been studying Quantum Physics for 11 yrs and found intuition tobe both an advantage and disadvantage. What I see is not always what's there. If I apply this thinking to other areas like politics

"The most powerful defense of that which you clearly value is based in a Darwinian perspective." Darwin today is more, in the wiser words of T.S. Eliot, like a whimper than a bang. The backwardness of some psychologists as if we haven't yet passed Darwin is ceaselessly wonderous!

"
#EvoPsych does not speak for evolutionary theory." Certainly that is true. It is equally true that evolutionary biology does not speak for evolutionary theory. Or#evolutionary economics. Or evolutionary cosmology. So who does speak for it? Who's it's best interdisciplinarian? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

The issue is that you should not let your understanding of the props and stage mechanics blind you to the meaning and beauty of the play.

Hey Brett - you should do a podcast with JP to discuss Maps of Meaning, which effectively made the case for EvoPsych in 1999.

Is this a claim that
@jordanbpeterson made a strong case for#evolutioanrypsychology in 1999, stronger in your view than *any* that came before since Wilson's Sociobiology 1975, including Tooby & Cosmides 1992? What does "made the case" mean? Tons of dissent to evopsych still.

I get where she's coming from. The view that absolutely everything is driven by the imperatives of propagation and survival where is the part that makes those things worthwhile? Always seemed that what separates humans from other animals is our capacity for impractical activity

EvoPsych preoccupies itself with details (esp. the titilating details of human sexuality), but is blind to the bigger & infinitely more important picture, which includes the perverted Darwinian nature of their state employer:https://twitter.com/rogerahicks/status/1008227827945213952 …
