The piece was insightful and the comments are telling, I think he should join the #WalkAway movement if he wants to make a change, me personally ? I want nothing to do with the whole sorry mess and will keep on gaming till the world becomes sane again #Ijustwantapeacefulllife

The mob doesn't want social justice, it wants social revenge. A very destructive revenge.

The only - and I do mean only - way to deal with the mob is to go nuclear on them when they fuck with you. Show no weakness and no mercy and they won't go near you after that. Because of course, they are bullies at the end of the day, and bullies avoid the strong.

"Aggressive online virtue signaling is a fundamentally two-dimensional act. It has no human depth." Outstanding insight. Disclaimer: I'm a left-of-liberal person. But self-awareness and moderation are really important. And, having experience with TESC, I HATE dogma. Of any ilk.

Orwell knows the Left: "Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face -- forever.' "

Why assume it's true? How easy would it be to fake?

I suppose you must trust the Editor’s knowledge. In any case, even a name does not guarantee that a story is true.

I don’t recommend hatred. It’ll eat you up and there will be nothing left.

Public shaming by the mob has a very long history. We really haven’t advanced very far.
-
Have we advanced? Or are we just replaying the same story over and over again in a new culture (environment) - does progress really exist or is it just a different lens, shift of perspective within the same story?
-
One of the oldest human insights, prevalent in every culture, is the idea that history repeats. The same system (humanity) creates similar patterns as far as it is able, with only slightly varied results depending on the substrate / environment.

“Social Justice is a surveillance culture” - chilling.
