What rightwing policies that America is currently enacting do you think we need? And if you have time for a second question, what successes have the right been responsible in the past year and a half that you think America 'needs'?

The answer is nothing. All they do is loot the treasury tbh.

This is a Procrustean force fitting of an unspoken ought. The tension between individualizing and binding, or autonomy and community, is built-in to conservatism. But the left is all individualizing all the time.
-
If the left disappeared tomorrow the right would divide into libertarian and conservative.https://theindependentwhig.com/haidt-passages/grant-the-narcissism-of-small-differences/ …
-
So no, the two sides do NOT “need” each other. That concept is more wishful thinking, and justification of the left, than a reflection of reality.
-
Viewpoint diversity is not served by "diversity" but by divergence of viewpoint. Prey-Predator "The value of liberalism is to advance the boundaries" As boundaries form, individuals readopt conservatism establishing new norms, which form an *ecology* of progress-conserve.

I agree we need balance. But we need what the modern left has become like we need anal polyps. Their hateful rhetoric and socialist worldview can disappear altogether and the US won’t be an iota worse for it.
-
The extreme left is what no society needs any more than the extreme right. That these extremes exist isn’t a disavowal of the need for perspectives from both sides.
-
No question. The difference is, the extreme left is becoming mainstreamed. The extreme right remains on the fringes, liberal histrionics notwithstanding.
-
I agree, that’s what is the issue now. It waxed and waned, far right to far left, holding influence more than it should. I posit we need to marshal reason over ideological puritanism regardless of where it comes from.

It helps to look at the left / right divide as the primary behavioral eigenvector of coordination within complex adaptive systems. This is why we converge upon it politically, and have encoded it mythologically and archetypically within deeper layers of our cultural substrate.

It couldn't possibly help those who don't understand a single one of those words.

I generally leverage a long-tail strategy when it comes to communication via Twitter, favoring precision over accessibility. For those whose interests are piqued, but do not initially understand, we are lucky enough to live within an age in which the research comes easily.
-
Engagement amplifies your signal. I see what you said because I follow you. Your signal will be lost to virtually everyone else, giving that strategy reduced probability to pique interests.
-
That’s ok. I’m taking a dynamical, rather than statistical, approach. It’s been working decently thus far, and those who do reach out tend to be of the type that bootstrap opportunities to engage with those specific communities.
-
Fair enough. Cheers

Appreciate the input, though.

How about both sides are rather insane and refuse to look at the facts of what is happening in nature? We don't need the concept of money and we can cut mindless consumerism under a proper configuration of technology and automation. The drive for GDP is deadly for the planet.pic.twitter.com/u0EfDar9nM

If you are interested in Buckminster Fuller, then you might like this too. Basically, the end of money, politics, war, governments and corporations. And if the human species does not take this step, the drive for GDP will destroy Earth's resources.https://www.thevenusproject.com/

Ive been following the Venus project for years. Sad that Jacque died and no one really made a but heal about it. It’s shitty he couldn’t come up with a way to implement the project without world wife disasters though.

*world wide

I just don’t see how we get to where we need to be and still use money.
@primalpoly@BretWeinstein@EricRWeinstein -
And yet, very smart people cannot see the better reality of a moneyless world. Higher education is an education straight from capitalism to prolong capitalism. Many degrees are unnecessary and considered contrived under Jacque's philosophies. Capitalism creates bullshit people.pic.twitter.com/h5n6twmtFk
