No, this was truly a bad film. The audience at the end were laughing - whether tired of the drawn out storyline, comical nudity or floating body to the treehouse. This film was a mess - nothing that knit the story arc together. It’s was a poor man’s M Night movie.
-
Completely agree with you. Ridiculous ending that had some people in stitches. Such a shame as I thought it was really good up until the 'Scary Movie' style ending.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. It is one of the worst films I have ever seen on every level, and it is getting rave reviews. I truly don’t understand what is happening.
-
I wrote a review that is critical and people been roasting me all day...glad to see I’m not the only one confused as to why this movie is getting so much praisehttp://thenerdstash.com/hereditary-review-so-bad-its-scary/ …

Yeah I’m at a loss. Been a student of film for quite some time and although I have some odd interests at times I can’t figure out why this is happening. From the acting, writing, overacting it is an absolute mess.

Bret, you must be joking! The film was a disaster. The performances were phoned and phoned-in and I laughed at every attempt to be scared. Worst film of 2018 perhaps ever.
-
If Toni’s performance was “phoned in” I’d loooove to know what you think a fantastic horror performance is.

-
Fantastic performance in a Horror film: See Jodi Foster
-
No argument there, but I’d put Toni in that league.

Agree with the almost half on here who make up the underwhelmed. It really wasted a lot of good work with the terrible last 20 minutes which were almost comedic. There was a lot of laughing in the audience I was part of at times. Never a sign of a good horror.

Totally agree with you and it is telling that many of the ADD generation of today just cannot seem to handle the mature and disturbing plot elements. A true Horror classic that will stand the test of time.
