I mean, I would love to help them. But I've got a short publication due this week and several classes' worth of papers to grade before the deadline for grades early next week. Plus defenses for grad students. So I am quite literally out of time to meet with them
Oh, I post all of my paper assignments and all associated readings on the very first day of class and I still get students two days before the paper is due saying "I'm so busy, I don't have time, etc. etc."

Yeah, I've had some of that these last few weeks too. Part of the reason I put everything up so early is so they can budget their time, but its also so I can budget my time. But I suppose that's part of their learning process too.
