One way you can tell I'm both a healthy, neurotypical white guy and a huge sucker is I genuinely miss being a grad student
I miss our group of friends. I miss the camaraderie that came from being 'in it together.' And I miss the long-term certainty of a long course of study. But there is a lot more than I do not miss.

My nostalgia today was spurred by seeing a Latin grad reading course in progress, so it's hard to say I even picked the right program on which to cash in six years of my life

I just know that I am happier and healthier - both physically and mentally - now than I was in the crucible of graduate school.
