If you ever decide to read the book (sequels exist but are not required, the story is in a sense complete (book 2 in fact deals with the question what to do with a hero once they’ve won)),
@mythgardian did a series of podcasts om it that I can highly recommend,
FWIW, I think reading at least as far as the third book (Children of Dune) is advisable - the second two books clarify the impact Paul has in a way that is implied in the first book but often missed. Paul is not a hero. He doesn't save anyone.

Oh absolutely, I just didn't want to send someone into a multi book series, especially because the entire franchise now stands at 15 books or so? And that can be quite daunting

Thanks! That’s exactly what kept me from getting into them years ago. Not necessarily the number of books, but the confusion which should be read. I guess it’s a common concern…
