Major question is if mammoths could be trained. Some subspecies of elephant can, but others can't, so it's not an idle question. Just thinking about how harrowing it was to get the Carthaginian elephants across the river in Spain and how much more difficult mammoths would have been. Although probs would have done better in the cold.
