To be clear, I'm fine with the idea of elite overproduction, I merely object to the notion that it can be modeled and quantified in the distant past.
Yeah, its a useful term if can be severed from Turchin's hocus pocus (and unfortunately, the hocus pocus detracts from the occasional good points!
